Scrambled eggs are the perfect first breakfast dish for kids to learn how to make on their own. It’s healthy, easy and quick. Here’s how…
STEP 1:
Crack 1-2 eggs in a small bowl. Be sure to crack the egg on the counter instead of the edge of the bowl to make sure that egg shells do not accidentally fall into the bowl. Gently pull apart the cracked egg with your thumbs.
Step 2:
Add a little salt, pepper and 1/4 cup of milk to the bowl of liquid eggs. You can start with about 1/4 teaspoon of salt and pepper but the little chef can decided how much they really want based on what tastes good to them. But be careful not to add too much salt!
Step 3:
Beat or whisk the eggs for about 30 seconds until fully mixed. The clear or white part should be completely mixed in with the yellow part. The spring whisk is absolutely one of our cooking favorite tool for kids. It makes whisking easier for kids. It blends faster than traditional whisk plus kids simply bounce the whisk up and down to do all the mixing… which is tons of fun for them.
Step 4:
Spray a medium sized skillet with cooking spray, pour in the egg mixture, then turn the stove to medium heat. We suggest turning on the heat AFTER pouring in the egg mixture to prevent the liquid egg popping on your little chef due to an overheated skillet. Once the egg begins to cook you can decide to turn the heat up or down depending on your comfort level.
Our technique for making scrambled eggs is to gently push the eggs to the center of the skillet once the edges of the liquid egg begins to firm. Continue pushing, lifting and flipping until there is no visible liquid egg in the pan.
Step 5:
